The OP-735 Optical Probe is a device that communicates via infrared waves with peripheral devices such as electricity meters, water meters, heat meters, gas meters, or any other device that has an optical port. Its small and lightweight design is made rugged with ABS and Polycarbonate filter material. This product is compatible with all devices that support the European standard IEC62056-21 (IEC 1107) Mode E & C and IEC62056-31. Additionally, it can send data transmission settings for all types of IEC meters in transparent mode.

OP-735 features a Bluetooth interface that is compatible with tablets, mobile phones, and other devices that support Bluetooth connectivity. It is compatible with various operating systems, including Mac, Windows, Linux, iOS, and Android. The device is powered by an internal rechargeable battery, eliminating the need for an external battery pack or AC adapter. The OP-735 optical probe benefits from a powerful magnet that securely attaches it to the meter and is resistant to external light sources other than infrared wavelengths.

Ergonomic & User-friendly Housing Design

The housing is designed with ergonomics in mind for comfortable handling. The material of construction ensures both robustness and lightness. It provides substantial resistance against surface wear due to its prolonged usage with optical port devices and meters.

It’s worth noting that good material alone doesn’t guarantee high hardness. The housing shape significantly impacts probe hardness. We have developed optical probes to endure a drop from a distance of one meter in case it slips from the user’s grip.

 Powerful Magnet

The head of the device boasts a powerful magnet hidden below the surface, allowing the probe to attach securely to the optical port. This eliminates the need for constant manual checking and ensures a secure connection to the device.

Caution: Due to the strong magnetic force of the probe’s magnet, please do not store it near electronic equipment as it may cause damage if stored for long periods. It can also result in malfunctions in any storage device, including hard drives, solid-state memories (such as flash memory and SSDs), RAM storage, and similar.

Optical Filter

To establish communication between two devices through an optical port, a specific wavelength is necessary. The wavelength employed should be within the range of 880 nm infrared light, which remains invisible to the human eye. The light filter integrated into this optical probe effectively screens all ambient light, negating any possible interference to ensure uninterrupted and efficient communication between both the devices.

Smart Baud Rate Change

At times, individual meters may initiate connections at lower baud rates, but transmit data at higher ones. The baud rate may also require adjustment in accordance with the rules and protocols governing specific meters. Moreover, different communication modes are necessary for various meter models, depending on the optical port characteristics. Our optical probes have the intelligent ability to modify the connection baud rate and communication mode in E and C, in accordance with the communication protocol’s demands.

LED Indicator Lights

Using a battery-powered Bluetooth device requires visual notifications for various operations and battery life. Our optical probes feature separate indicators for battery life and data transmission via Bluetooth or optical port. This provides accurate indications of the ongoing operation and also helps the inspector or meter reader to determine the remaining battery life.
